Sewing Gifts: Wristlet Zippered Pouch, Travel Tissue Holder, Sachets Filled With Lavender

There is a wonderful person at the front desk of one of the Y's I attend. She is a shy, but always helpful, pleasant person. She never seems to give anyone any attitude. She seems to be always in a good mood. So I wanted to say "Thanks" by giving her these little gifts I made. Thank you Erin.
The fabric used is 100% cotton for the main outside, while the lining and hearts are made with cotton flannel.

The wristlet zippered pouch is around 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" I quilted only the pouch using batting in-between the cotton flannel lining and main cotton fabric. I also used a 7" zipper.

The handle for the zippered pouch is cut about 3 1/2" wide (can't see the picture of the handle)

The travel tissue holder holds standard Kleenix Travel Tissues. It's overlapped so that it says closed.

The two sachets are made using main cotton fabric stuffed with dried lavender, while the appliquéd hearts are made using cotton flannel.
I used Sizzix die # 655776 to cut the sachets. For the hearts on the sachet, I used Sizzix die #656334.

I took many pics of how I made each of them, but there are numerous sites to find instructions for the quilted pouch and travel tissue holder.

Decoupaging Empty Wine Bottles

I really like some of the beautiful designs on napkins that I come across at stores. In fact, I buy them with the intent to use them to decoupage. What else would you want to use them for? To me, they are way too pretty to use as napkins. Here are some samplings on wine bottles. I've decoupaged other things as well that I'll show next week.

Homemade Cell Phone Holder Made of Fabric w/Fleece Lining

TonyB just got another cell phone through his job. It's a Samsung Galaxy, with a bigger screen than an iPhone. Anyway, he wanted a holder for it—so I made him one. This is the first one. It turned out to be a little tight, even though it doesn't look it. (See one of the pics below.) The lining is fleece, that's why it is very snug. I didn't want his phone to slip out. I like it, but he says it was a little too snug. I did make him another one, and I would have taken a few pics of it, since it's made a little different, and with a pocket, but unfortunately, my little camera was recently dropped by someone who shall remain nameless—Christina. It's OK though. I've had for seven years. I've dropped it before, and so has a couple of my grandchildren. But guess what! I ordered another one. It's the same model. It's a used one,  but for a fraction of what I would've paid for a new one. I have too many accessories that went with it that would have been useless if I bought a new model.

Anyway here are pics of the one TonyB isn't using I'll call this the prototype. I'm just dumbfounded that it took me all day to make!

By the way, I love this fabric pattern! It's one of my all-time favorites. I bought yards and yards of it. I've even sold some of it back to associates (clerks?) at JoAnns who wanted some and knew I had purchased a lot of it!
