Reversible Toddler Dress

I made my first reversible dress for my baby granddaughter back in April. After searching for tutorials that I could easily understand, I found a wonderful and easy tutorial over at polkadot.  When I emailed her to ask her what pattern she used, she kindly responded that she never listed a pattern for the dress because she made up her own based off of a regular A-line dress pattern.  She also noted that any pattern for an A-line dress should work for sizing.  I really like her style in the things that she makes.

I used cotton fabric. But since this was my first try, I used fabric that I really didn't like, in case I messed up. But the dress turned out nice after all.

Embroidered Small Zippered Bag & Tissue Cover

I like to make these because they are very easy to sew. I purchased the pattern for the zippered bag and travel tissue cover a few years back. It's Simplicity Crafts #9949. I just added the wrist strap.  I usually make them as just because gifts--no special occasion or anything but just because I like the person and want to show my appreciation to them. I embroider the name before I put it together, so it doesn't show on the inside.

One of My Many Favorite Fabrics

Vintage Old Tin Cans
Is there anyone else like me that when you love a fabric print so much that you have to buy yards and yards of it? I loved this fabric so much that I must have bought about 35 yards! I originally was going to use it to decorate for my daughter's little boy's room, but she thought it wasn't cowboy/western themed enough. So,  I've used some of it for small projects that I will show soon. The fabric was purchased at my local Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores almost two years ago in the novelty section. It's called Vintage Old Tin Cans.
